is it possible to get an answer from a GF member (Product CoMa perhaps)
Hi there!
I won't poke them for that because I believe if there was anything for them to say, they would say so, however, our Community Manager Drestam was informed of this thread as soon as it was created and he's paying attention to what is said here and the rest of the Els UK forums that I can ensure you
But as I said, if there is anything to comment on this subject they will when there is something to be said but I can guarantee that he was informed of this
Regards,
Senakhtenre.
-
if they are informed about it why dont they answer it then? (I know you cant know what is going on inside their head)
the thread is now 2 weeks old - no respone from GF, not even one from the team (yes I know I said that the team is basically "useless" [no intention of bad mouthing] in this regard but a post like yours should've come the minute this thread got posted)
you cant say to me that all these points from ketsueki are not worth to get a comment from GF for 2 weeks (and probably more because we know how things are getting treated here)
perhaps its just that Drestam is new here, who knows
-
I don't feel like a post of me saying I've forwarded something is needed everytime I forward something, because part of my job as well as Drestam's is to forward everything the community does/feels like, I only post when either I have something to add or when stuff like this happens where players are clearly asking for any kind of reply to them.
As you have mentioned I don't know what's going on on their mind about this and you are also right that I have no saying on such things, I know most of the points on this thread are totally fair and I agree with a big part of it, but sadly even when our CM is informed of this thread, it isn't up to him (nor the PCM) alone to decide and make changes.
I don't want this thread to become a back and forth between you guys and me because in the end, I'm just another player who volunteers for this game and knows as much as you do, if you have any concerns feel free to hit me up via Conversation here and we can continue talking
He was reading the forums today but I'll poke Drestam in case he feels like he could add something about this subject

The most annoying thing about this is.. none of what we're after is unreasonable or absurd. Everything that has been said, has been a problem for years. Players have discussed it, have brought it up to whatever staff they can, but all we're getting is silence pretty much. That or empty promises. It'd honestly be appreciated if someone higher up would address our issues directly, and share their stance on the matter, as I believe transparency would help greatly (well, better communication as a whole would be a massive improvement..).

Hello everyone!
Apparently you all think I should answer on this matter, so here I am. Effectively, as Senak said, I am forwarding this every week since the first post (because it is still active, some new ideas may come up). Regarding the 4 points, there is only one that is entirely up to us (Gameforge).
1 - Patch notes: I agree that previous Patch Notes were pretty bad (just a raw pdf file and cy@). I thought that current patch notes were pretty good, but maybe that is because I'm not really a big player yet (as for mistranslations, mistakes happen, I can't deny this :D)
2 - Website: This is the entirely-up-to-us Website. We may or may not be working on it, I am not allowed to reveal such information, but rest assured, we know what you think!
3 - Game Stability: We are doing everything we can to provide a more stable game. Problem is that it doesn't seem to come from our servers, but from the game itself. This is why I created this lovely google form, which is regularly forwarded to KOG and changed depending on the data they ask.
4 - Update Frequency: Sadly I can't say much about this point, this is totally out of my line of work. But like 2 -, we know what you think.
So yes, I read this forum and this thread, but I don't want to say 'I forwarded it' everytime because I don't want players to stop having new ideas
KEEP THE IDEAS COMIN' BOYS AND GIRLS

1) why not just take the ideas/pictures/etc. from the NA website? we are already 2 months behind the other servers (NA/JP/TW), its not like you need the information from KoG that much (dont think they would make the patch notes differently just for us)
1.1) PLEASE CHANGE THE TRANSLATING ORDER FROM KR -> DE -> Rest of EU to KR/NA -> UK -> Rest of EU - THE CURRENT TRANSLATION ORDER MAKES NO SENSE AND CONFUSES THE MAJORITY OF PLAYERS BECAUSE WE HAVE DIFFERENT TRANSLATIONS THAN NA
2) you either do it or not, but like ketsuekii and sharoona said:"a better website would make more people play the game" - nobody wants to play the game if they see the website in its current state
3) is KoG perhaps giving us other data unlike the other servers? NA is working much better than EU, I disconnected ONCE in a month and in EU this can happen several times in only one day
X) stand your ground, I feel like we (the players) and you (GF) are getting bullied by KoG and you do nothing about it because you are having a contract or whatnot (change the contract, make suggestions), I know it is in GF interest to make as much money as possible but you cant actually think that the current state of EU is giving you as much money as it would if the game would be in a better state and GF would care more about the community (see "1)" and "2)") - I know you are better than this, you can do it
I know you are going to forward it to your superiors, but can we even expect an answer? I know it is everything you are able to do, but you have to understand we are frustrated that this company is not listening to us for years and lying to us (IN SPOILER) and the people are fed up
if you want to play with the players minds because they are clearly addicted and cant quit the game (obvious excuses like "my friends are still playing there" or "I spent too much money on it already") then go for it ("milking players"), but dont expect them to stay until the game closes (because it will eventually like every other MMORPG)
dont take it as an insult or personal attack, I wrote this in my frustration and tried to hold back with passive aggressiveness and such because elsword is a wonderful game and deserves to be treated as such
-
oh what a surprise one week and not a single answer on a widely considered important topic - who would've thought?
-
I guess there is not much to say at this point. It requires a reaction from those whom this criticism and suggestion is targeted at, namely publisher GF and developer KoG.
-
a simple "yes" or "no" would be enough and not just keep it silent for a week (and probably even longer if I hadnt bumped this thread)
will 1.1) be implemented? what about 1)?
what is his view on X) because he is relatively new as a CoMa
etc. etc.
it takes like 2 minutes to write a post and an extra 4~8 minutes to improve it
-
Well, Athena liked the initial post, so I guess it's been acknowledged, more or less. However I think everyone would be grateful over a statement, that's some point of transparency
-
Oh no, I wouldn't doubt that Athena acknowledged it, but where is the answer?
Almost another two weeks passed by, making it three now.
What has GF to say about the accusations made by me like "GF doesn't care about the players" or "GF is just milking the playerbase empty"? Just gonna let it stand it unanswered I guess?
Hackers on the EXP leaderboard (dont count me on this one but I think there are still many of them), an actual approach on the ping-problem from foreign players and so on..
-
Hackers on the EXP leaderboard (dont count me on this one but I think there are still many of them
Yeah, and most, if not all, of them are already banned. The only thing missing is the ability to delete them from the ranking, at least that's my latest state of affairs.

Well, I think some of them speak Korean. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense if they are able to translate a Korean game into several EU languages. So they could also take their informations directly from Elsword KR.
And it's not all about the translation but about the localisation. British English and American English are different and the European culture and the American culture are different as well. Asian languages leave a lot of room for interpretation and we existed before the NA server so it is like it is. If I'm honest I'm used to the fact that they're changing names in the European countries everytime (in many well-known other games as well). I would be even more confused if they changed the names to the North American version now that I'm used to them after so many years - and that would be even more work for them at this point. And I think it would be kinda strange if they'd translate the game for themselves and suddenly they copy the North American translations in the middle of the game. Maybe it would not stand out that much if they'd begin to copy the North American translations in Laby's world. But I'm not sure how much it would affect the rest of the game.
There are names I like even more than the Korean/American ones, like "Agaur" instead of "Denif". But sometimes it doesn't make sense for me either, like "Belmez" instead of "Ran". (Maybe they thought Ran would sound like a female's name)
In the end it doesn't really bother me.
Anyway, I agree with the first post of this thread.
I wish there were more detailed patch notes with pictures. I also feel like the German patch notes are translated worse than a year ago...
I also think the website is a bit outdated and personally I liked the design old website more than the current one but I think that's my personal preference because I don't like it when it's all dark. (I like it bright and colorful... but I know some other people prefer dark themes)
There's nothing I can add to the 3rd argument.
And I think it's really necessary to catch up with the updates. It's really frustrating for me to see new content every time I visit Elwiki and not to know when it's finally coming out in Europe while every other server already has the updates even though Elsword Europe existed years before them. To be honest if my account was banned, I think before I would start on the EU server again I would rather sart over on the INT server if we didn't at least catch up with the updates and server stability until then. -
I'm thinking, instead of our current strategy with game updates (or lack of), each month do a vote for what you'd like to see implemented/worked on in the following month. QoL, bugfixes, server stability improvements... I honestly could see many choosing to fix what we currently have over adding new content which no doubt would have a million bugs in it on release. Especially if you disconnect every 5 minutes while trying to even do it. Is far better overall to have a stable base to work off, rather than keep piling broken content on to an already broken core, which eventually will get to the point where nothing can be fixed without rewriting the whole game from scratch probably. Is why we're stuck with P2P systems for the most part - it'd take a very long time to rewrite most of the game just to change, and that'd result in more issues.

If I'm honest I'm used to the fact that they're changing names in the European countries everytime (in many well-idk, mostly when I read elwiki or a guide it has most of the times the NA translations, even in the trading discords they are using the american names
maybe it is just a byproduct because we are so far behind that nobody from EU bothers translating/making guides

I honestly could see many choosing to fix what we currently have over adding new content which no doubt would have a million bugs in it on release.
I think the game may be buggy because we're not getting the updates in the intended order. I'm not an IT expert but it would make sense to me and that would mean if we got the updates in the intended order and would catch up missing content the game would work better... At least someone has mentioned in this forum that KOG would sometimes give us updates for content that we don't have yet. After all several people said we're the only server with this issue and as Drestam stated in this thread the EU servers apparently work just fine

Update order may have some impact, depending on what changes were made and to what files. But there are other potential causes too such as: is Gameforge using a similar server environment to the other versions? Perhaps they have their own way of setting things up and there's differences large enough to cause these issues we're seeing. May be a similar situation to running something on Windows XP vs Windows 7 vs Windows 10 - you may encounter issues based on what the differences are at the OS level, even if the application's code hasn't changed. Of course, this is just speculation but something is breaking somewhere, I just hope Gameforge actually has the ability to view logs in their entirety even though they're unable to actually touch the code due to contractual obligations.

I agree with this suggestion SO MUCH.
But there is also one thing that bothers me A LOT:
The log-in screen.
It just... doesn't look good. It is outdated, the quality isn't good and it's overloaded.
It wouldn't look appealing to a new user at all...
I made a better one in 30 minutes. t h i r t y m i n u t e s.
Here is newer content, it isn't overloaded, it's simple but still would look more appealing to new users..
gf please hire someone who will do better graphics it bothers me since a long time
