And here I am with some new information regarding this situation. Fresh outta the oven xD
After the massive backlash that KoG received, we also received information regarding future updates.
(While I wanted to refrain from including my opinion, I can't help thinking that this is very lousy damage control to get everyone back into the game. It's not the first time they did this where they make every character mega overpowered just to nerf them again once they have enough players back in the future.)
The new update will include not a character re-vamp, they rather call it "character re-boot", in which characters will not only get a re-vamp, but more-so will see a change in their general commands (more or less) as well as an inclusion of an evasion skill that can be used when one's hit by attacks.
More information and details can be found here: https://elwiki.net/babel/?p=6768
This is the schedule of rebooted characters:
Elsword Character Reboot Schedule
– 6 20: 1st Character Reboot (Elsword, Rena, Eve)
– 7 04: 2nd Character Reboot (Elesis, Ara, Ain)
– 7 18: 3rd Character Reboot (Aisha, Raven, Add, Laby)
– 8 01: 4th Character Reboot (Chung, LuCiel, Rose)
Also within this mess, Youtuber "2nafish" was kind enough to actually translate an official statement regarding everything. In their official statement KoG admitted that most of the accusations regarding current events were TRUE (indrectly):
(Translation provied by 2nafish on Babel):
This is an excerpt. Full article linked below this paragraph
- Suspicion regarding personal contact between certain player and game manager
"As we mentioned in our previous statement, an inspection has taken place and although evidence of some personal communication has been found, we’ve confirmed that it wasn’t related to leaking of content updates.
However, the game manger in question felt responsible for his/her actions providing the ground for players to become suspicious and therefore has been removed from all work related to Elsword by personal consent.
All Elsword developers and managers will make sure to learn from this incident and be careful so our players won’t have even a slightest suspicion."
Apology Rewards are also released as planned. Whether or not these will arrive in Europe, we will see about that.
The whole translated statement can be found here, PLEASE READ IT: https://elwiki.net/babel/?p=6766
The next link I provide is also from babel regarding the Patch Notes for tomorrow: https://elwiki.net/babel/?p=6771
FYI: Whether or not you will stick to this game is up to you, but please don't forget that GameForge has no affiliation with this mess in case you may be confused. Gameforge distributes the game, but does not create future content. However, KoG Korea does so.
