    Become a part of the game team, join the Game Masters!

    The Elsword UK support team is looking for new Game Masters to support the community by helping our players and enforcing the rules! Due to this, in order to be considered for this position you are required to have a good understanding of the game and how it works.




    Playing the game whilst in the team

    Your identity as a player is completely separated from your identity as a GameMaster and you can still play Elsword regularly with your personal account as a normal player.



    Requirements to join the team:

    • Due to legal reasons, be at least 18 years old.
    • At least 3h per day for team duties.
    • Fluent English.
    • A good understanding of how Elsword works and the rules.
    • Accepting positive feedback and criticism from other members of the team, while being able to successfully being part of it.
    • Being able to use IRC and Discord.

    Elsword - Additional Game Rules

    Welcome Adventurer,

    Be sure to make note of these rules, which should help to enable peaceful cooperation between adventurers.

    1. User Accounts

    1.1 Naming

    • Names of players, guilds, groups, PvP rooms, pets and so on which have far-right extremist backgrounds, or which suggest pornographic, racist, inflammatory or illegal actions and/or activities as well as offensive names are forbidden and may be renamed by the Team or even banned.
    • Special characters are also not permitted. Only the Latin (English) alphabet is permitted (no Arabic or Asian characters etc.)
    • The use of team member names is forbidden. Characters that have such names or attempt to imitate them will be banned immediately without any prior notice. It is also forbidden to create names to offend another player or guild.
    • It is not permitted to include any of the following abbreviations at the start of your character or pet names: GM, SGM, GA or CM.
    • Pets are included in this rule.

    1.2 Access Details

    • All players are required to keep the access details for their account secret. It is not permitted that these details be passed onto third parties. No responsibility can be taken for any harm incurred through carelessness. An infringement on this rule can lead to a permanent ban of the account.
    • Please select a secure, long and complicated password, and use the pin-pad function available to you in the game. Note that the Elsword team will NEVER ask for your password.
    • It is also forbidden to ask other players for their account details.
    • The usage of disposable emails or unsecured email boxes is forbidden.
    • The email linked to your user account is the main communication path between you and the Team. Please check it periodically.

    1.3 Multiple Accounts

    • A player is allowed to own and operate multiple accounts. If an account is banned permanently, all other accounts associated with the affected user IP address may also be banned.
    • Different users are allowed to use the same internet connection and play together in that way.
    • But the use of multiple accounts simultaneously on the same computer is not permitted.
    • The use of 2 accounts on 2 computers at the same time is only allowed if you're using one of those accounts to exchange items and/or open a stall.
    • Any active gameplay action that is executed at the same time from more than one account you own is strictly forbidden and can be punished with a permanent ban.

    1.4 Account Exchange, Gifting and Trading

    • The exchange of an account is not permitted as described in the terms and conditions.
    • Additionally, accounts may not be gifted or sold. Breaches of this rule will result in a permanent ban for all those involved.

    2. Behaviour

    2.1 General Conduct In-game

    • Please remain polite when interacting with other players and do not use language that could be considered offensive. Threatening, extorting or intimidating other players is forbidden and will be punished.
    • If you believe that someone is breaking the rules, contact a Team member. The incident must be documented in the form of a meaningful screenshot (full interface) or a video to enable us to fully understand the incident. This may not be altered or have occurred more than 3 weeks ago.
    • No two breaches are the same. Some users may feel offended more quickly than others. We treat matters on a case by case basis and adjust the punishments to suit each unique incident.
    • Forcing other users to do something they do not wish to do is forbidden and will be punished with a permanent ban.
    • Stigmatising or condemning other players, no matter whether the incident relates to truth or not, is not permitted.
    • Impersonating other players and/or any Team member is strictly forbidden.

    2.2 Real Life Threats

    • Threatening fellow players, Elsword Team Members, Gameforge officials or others is strictly forbidden. Breaches may additionally lead to an exclusion from all Gameforge platforms as punishment. We reserve the right to take further legal action.

    2.3 Behaviour when Trading with Other Players

    • Deceit during trading is not permitted; care should be taken, especially where it concerns new players and their lack of experience.
    • Repetitive requests for items, currency or anything else is punishable.
    • A refunding of items that have been lost as a result of ‘trading fraud’ will not be granted. The Elsword Team is not responsible for initiating a return of items.
    • Any kind of trading contact with gold sellers is forbidden. This includes the receipt and transfer of goods as well as making any sort of trading agreement.
    • If there is suspicion of a supposed gold seller (also including messages sent by mail), this should be promptly reported to Support, otherwise a game exclusion cannot be ruled out. Reporting after the event is not possible.

    2.4 Behaviour when Playing with Other Players

    • Leeching or any form of intentional AFK during active gameplay sessions is forbidden.

    2.5 Chat In-game

    • Please be aware of the tone you use when speaking colloquially – vulgar language can be punished, even if it is not directly insulting or if it's censored.
    • Please do not spam. Repetitive sending of the same message is not permitted.
    • Links that are not related to Elsword are forbidden.
    • Messages that relay information on cheats, hacks, bots or similar are forbidden and will be punished.
    • It is forbidden to advertise other websites or games that are not part of the Elsword website or that are not associated with Gameforge. It is however not against the rules to purely mention such things.

    3. Bug Use / Exploits / Manipulation

    3.1 Bug Use

    • If you find a bug, you should report it immediately. This can be done via the ticket system, the IRC or in the forum.
    • Those that use a bug to their advantage will risk an account ban.

    3.2 Client Manipulation / Scripting

    • The manipulation of the Elsword program is expressly forbidden. Those that use other game-related software which is not published or approved by Gameforge 4D will lose their account.
    • The use of the ‘Sandboxie’ program is also forbidden.
    • It is forbidden to use programs which carry out automation of game processes. The use of bots/keyboard simulators and the macro functions is also not permitted and will lead to a permanent account ban.

    4. Warnings / Sanctions

    4.1 Team Interaction

    • Team members have the following details before their name in the game: (GM) (SGM) (GA) (CM) / (CoMa). Characters that do not use or use this in some modified way are not part of the team.
    • Team members are not allowed to give you items, gold, El Coins or anything else (outside of special in-game events). They will also not help you to gain a level. Please refrain from inviting Team members into your party, guild or friend list.
    • Instructions and decisions made by the Elsword Team must be adhered to and respected.

    4.2 Punishments

    • For breaching or breaking the rules, the penalties can be any of the following: warnings, kicks from the server, blocking of the account.
    • The punishments are assigned depending on the severity of the rule breach. The Community Manager reserves the right to evaluate that severity.
    • Game, forum, IRC Channel and the Support service: serious and/or repeated violations committed on any of these may have repercussions elsewhere.

    4.3 Procedures for Objections to a Ban/Sanction

    • Public discussion of a specific sanction is not permitted.
    • Should you wish to submit an objection, please do so via the ticket system.
    • If you are not happy with a Team Member’s decision, please ask the ticket to be assigned to an appropriate Team Member with superiority. That could be a Super Game Master, a Game Admin or even the Community Manager.
    • Please provide all the necessary information so that your concern can be processed quickly.
    • We will not process any ban objections if the ban dates back further than 1 month.

    4.4 Refunds

    • A refunding of items that have been lost through ‘trading fraud’, or due to carelessness (every player is required to keep the access details for their account secret) will not be granted.
    • The Elsword Team is not responsible for initiating a return of items.

    5. Users Events / Creations

    5.1 Events

    • Instructions issued by a Team Member must be followed. Not adhering to or following their instructions can lead to being excluded from the relevant event or even from the game.
    • Do not harass Elsword Team Members who are responsible for organizing the event.
    • It is strictly forbidden to ask for prizes or rewards.
    • Participation in an event does not guarantee a claim to a prize (items etc.).

    5.2 Private Competitions

    • Competitions for prizes or contests that require an input from the participants are not allowed.
    • The Elsword Team is not responsible for any problem that can arise from private competitions.

    5.3 Fansites

    • If you wish to create a fansite or similar, and you would like to use the graphics or art of the Elsword website, you should first ask for the game management’s permission and support. Please send your requests to us via the ticket system.

    5.4 Graphical Material

    • Taking screenshots and videos of Elsword and to edit them is permitted. During the editing process however, no copyright-protected material should be incorporated. This editing applies only to usage for private purposes. Screenshots and videos that are used for evidence are not included in this scope: such videos or screenshots should not be edited.

    Please note that the Elsword Team reserves the right to ban accounts even without a breach of the above stated rules.
    Game management also reserves the right to carry out alterations or extensions to the rules.
    Elsword and all other Gameforge games are subject to the terms and conditions of Gameforge 4D.

    Game crashes & Co: What to do?




    Are you experiencing strange disconnections from the server and you don't know what to do? Don't panic, follow those instructions point to point:


    • Check if your Windows is compatible


      Elsword Europe is compatible from Windows 7, 8/8.1, 10 and 11, in its Single Language, Home and Pro versions, as well as in the 'Home N', 'Pro N', and 'Pro for Workstations' versions, although in the case of the 'N' versions, you must install the 'optional package' called MediaFeaturePack for it to work.

      Please note we will not give support if you are using Windows Enterprise and LTSB/LTSC versions.

      In case you are using Windows XP you should know that we do not offer support in case of any failure using this operating system.

      Finally, you should also note that Microsoft has ended support for versions prior to Windows 10 November 2019 Update, so the support team can no longer fully assist you if you have any issues with these systems.

    • Be the PC administrator First of all, ensure that you are the PC administrator. How to do that?
      Control Panel > Users > User Account
      At this point look under the image of your account, on the right. If you see the writing 'Administrator' then you are ok, otherwise contact the pc owner and ask him to be a PC administrator.
    • Update DirectX
      Even if you already have the last version installed, re-install it. By doing that you're sure that your actual version isn't somehow damaged or similar. Microsoft offers a tool that automatically download and install the last version of DirectX supported by your OS: DirectX Download.
    • Scandisk
      Maybe the File System has been corrupted and some file may be damaged. In all Windows OS there's a tool that is able to spot and fix errors on your disk. Please note that the whole operation could take a while: Scandisk
    • OS Integrity Check


      This function is used to spot and eventually fix any kind of system-related files errors and it's called 'System File Checker' (usually shortened to sfc), you have to perform a full scan: SFC
      In case you notice problems with a Windows DLL, such as KERNELBASE.dll, you should download the Windows 10 Installation Tool from this link. Once you have downloaded it, you must start it and accept the applicable License Terms and Notices. Once you have done this, you will be asked 'What do you want to do?' and check the option 'Upgrade this computer now'. What this tool will do is reinstall critical Windows files, without modifying your current system configuration. This process should take at most 1 hour, and once Windows has started, start the game again. It should open without any problems.

    • Antivirus Scan
      If you have one, update it and perform a full system scan to check if your PC is infected.
    • Add Elsword to Antivirus and Firewall exceptions list
      The anvirus softwares usually have a live-scanning utility that checks every process during his exectuion and this could give problems to Elsword. Add those exes to the exception list of your antivirus and firewall, the Windows' ones too:
      • x2.exe
      • elsword.exe

      If you are using Bitdefender, you must also add it to the 'Advanced Thread Defence' module. To do this, go to the vertical tab 'Protection' and then enter the module listed above. In the horizontal 'Settings' tab you will find access to the exceptions. Please note that the game must be on your computer and not on a network drive in order to be added.
      Plus, if your antivirus let you do that, exclude the whole installation folder from the scanning paths. Since every antivirus has his own interface I'm not able to give you a guide on how to proceed, you have to search it on your own.
      The only thing that I can provide you are the Windows Defender and Windows Firewall guides: Firewall | Defender

    • Temporarily disable your antivirus program.
      In some cases your antivirus software may interfere with gameguard or your client and prevent you from starting the game.
    • Windows Troubleshoting (Not available for Windows 7)
      Believe me or not, it really works. First of all you have to follow this procedure. After that this one.
    • Perform a Windows 'Clean Boot'
      Doing that we can be sure that any third-party application isn't loaded up when Windows boots. After doing that please don't open any application until the end of this guide. You can find instructions on how to perform a clean boot for Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1 y Windows 10/11 Windows 7/8/8.1/10/11.
    • Disable the 'User Account Control'
      Before proceeding, I would like that you read carefully this article to understand what does the User Account Control is (usually shortened in UAC) and what kind of risks you could have if you disable it. I would like to remember you that you're always free to re-enable it anytime and that we're not forcing you to disable it. You just have to know that you're doing this on your own responsability. Some user gots a real benefit after doing that.
      Guide for: Windows 7/8/8.1/10/11
    • 'Run as Administrator' and 'Compatibility Mode'
      Sometimes you have to explicitly execute the game as an administrator. Please note that not all the OS have the same options so, if you don't have them, don't worry and leave everything as is.
      First of all, note that you have to follow those steps for all those exes:
      • x2.exe
      • elsword.exe

      Right click on the exe file, then click on 'Properties'. Get into the 'Compatibility' tab and mark the option 'Run this program as an administrator'. If you're using Windows 8/8.1/10/11, please mark the 'Execute this program in compatibility with' option too and then select 'Windows 7' from the dropdown below.
      Run now the game right-clicking on the launcher icon and clicking on 'Run as administrator' (you can do that only if you have Windows Vista/7/8 ). If you don't have it, launch it normally.

    • 'IncreaseVa.bat' error message.
      If this message appears, close your game, go to the 'data' folder in your game directory, find the 'IncreaseVa.bat' file and execute it. After doing so, start your game again.
    • Due to the GameGuard folder storing lots of data since the very first time you've run Elsword, for issues related to GameGuard such as 'Client terminated by GameGuard', you will have to:
      • If running, close Elsword game glient
      • Locate Elsword installation folder
      • In Data folder, delete GameGuard folder
      • Run Elsword again and let GameGuard download it's files again


    • In case of deleting GameGuard folder does not help, please follow these steps:

      • Zip the .erl files located in GameGuard folder with WinRAR, 7-Zip or any other equivalent program
      • Upload it to MEGA, MediaFire or any other file sharing website
      • Contact support regarding this issue and post the link inside the ticket


    I'm still crashing
    Please contact us through the Support System[/b], with the next information:

    • A short description of your problem: when does the crash occurs, if any error message is shown and what points of this guide you have done etc.
    • Some screenshot of the 'Task Manager' under the tab 'Processes' in which you show us all the running appplication on your pc. If you don't know how to perform a screenshot on Windows, please follow those guides: Windows 7 | Windows 8/8.1/10/11[/u]
    • A DxDiag report saved in a txt file. Sadly there's no official Microsoft guide that explain how to do that but if you Google it, you'll find a lot of sites that will guide you step-by-step.
    • The results of a speedtest taken through this website on a German server in Karlsruhe. When the test is completed, you'll see a 'share' button that will show you a link, you have to provide us that link.

    It may happen that, because of a variety of reasons, you will be requested/have to contact the Billing/Payment Support of Gameforge due to issues related to payments.


    This guide will start directly with "How to contact them" instead of how to make an account at the Support site, if you need help with that, please check out this other guide: How to add an e-mail address to your support account?


    Access the site:

    First we will have to go to the Elsword Support, once we are there we need to log in with either our email/password or Steam Account.

    Remember that all Gameforge support sites share your login credentials, if you have an account registered in our Elsword UK support (or any other Gameforge game) you can use said credentials here, just keep in mind you need to have in said account, the email address of the game account you will need help with (that's explained on the previously linked guide).


    Opening a ticket:

    Once logged in, we need to go to Contact support, and there, we will pick Payment from the droplist.

    IMPORTANT: Please keep in mind that your ticket has to be in either English or German. If you need help use Google Translator for it.

    • Nickname: The nickname you were using when topping up.
    • Email address: The email address of your game account linked to the previously mentioned nickname.
    • Payment method: The payment method that you used and experienced any problems/issues with (select Other if your method isn't on the list)
    • Subject: It will always be miscellaneous
    • Description of your problem: This is where we will tell the Payment Support all the information related to your problem, be specific, clear, and provide as many details as possible, such examples of this would be (as an example) If you used PayPal, your PayPal email, transaction ID, when did the purchase happen, what went wrong, if you used did a bank transfer/credit card your bank information, etc.
    • Attachments: You can use this system to attach to your ticket any information you may consider useful (or that you may be requested)

    Since the Billing Support handles the issues of ALL payments across Gameforge it might take more or less for them to handle it Additionally, tickets are handled during working hours, as such, it may happen that a ticket opened during a weekend or public holiday will not be replied till the next working day. Also keep in mind tickets are handled from older to newest, either replying again to your ticket or opening a new one won't speed up this process in the last case that will move your ticket to the end of the queue, please, be patient.


    Once someone from the team has replied to said ticket you will get a notificiation via email, you can also access the Ticket history section of the support site to keep an eye on the current status of the ticket, as well as to read the replies to your ticket/reply to it again.

    • You can buy each level multiple times.
    • You can select the desired level and then execute this level as often as you want.
    • However, you will need the required amount of Sleeping Heaters in order to carry out the level.
    • (High level) The more Sleeping Heaters required, the larger the minimum and maximum reward will be.
    • If you click on the ‘Popcorn Heater Party’ button in the event window, a unique popcorn heater opening sequence will start, leading to a random amount of Ice Sculpture Heaters (Mariposa Requiem) being added to your inventory.
    • There must be at least 1 empty space in your inventory at levels 1 to 3, at least 2 at level 4, and at least 3 at level 5 in order to play the event.
    • The amount of Sleeping Heaters will be displayed at the bottom of the pop-up window. A buy button will also appear on the right, which will take you to the item shop.
    • The ‘Start’ button will activate or deactivate depending on how many Sleeping Heaters you have.
    • Clicking on the START button will start a sequence in the upper left of the event window, showing Aranka making popcorn. Afterwards, it will display the amount of Ice Sculpture Heaters (Mariposa Requiem) you have received.
    • At the end of the event, any Sleeping Heaters that you haven't used (and are in your inventory) will be swapped for 'Ice Sculpture Heater (Mariposa Requiem)' during the 25/7/2018 maintenance period.

    Event Details


    1. Preparing to Get Even Stronger


    For level 15+ characters that have completed the 1st class change (per character).

    • Upon logging in, a character choice window will appear in the event interface, displaying all the 2nd path characters you currently own. Selecting a character will display a list of possible rewards.
    • Up to 2 characters can be selected. Only selected characters will receive the rewards during the event.

    * Deleting a character that's taking part in the event will not reset the amount of characters that can be selected.


    2. Starting is Half the Battle (Lv.15-98)


    For level 15+ characters that have completed the 1st class change.

    You automatically receive +50% EXP when you're level 15-98.


    3. For That Which Comes After Transcendence


    For level 70+ characters that have completed the 1st class change.

    • A level 70+ character that has not completed transcendence will receive a 'Transcendence Cipher' via post when they first log in.
    • Any characters that reach level 70 during the event will receive the 'Transcendence Cipher' via post upon levelling up.

    2) Applying a Weapon Upgrade Buff +3

    • As well as the upgrade level itself, the weapon will receive a buff that will strengthen it by an additional 3 upgrade levels. (The buff will not be taken into account during PvP.)
    • You cannot exceed the maximum upgrade level of 10. (For example, if the actual upgrade level of the weapon is 9, then the buff will only increase the upgrade level to 10.)

    1. Characters: Hand/Feet Sizes

    • The size of character hands and feet has been adjusted (with the exception of Rose and Ain) with the maintenance on 28/6.

    • Ain’s head will be reduced in size with the maintenance on 28/6.


    3. Add’s Energy Fusion Theory: New Achievement

    • A new achievement will be added to Add’s Energy Fusion Theory.

    6. Consistent Boundary: Adjustable Thickness

    • You can now adjust the line thickness in Options > Graphics > Consistent boundary.
    • The default setting for Options > Graphics > Consistent boundary will be changed to ‘On’.


    7. Hero Dungeon: Level Identified Weapons

    • In the identification of Hero dungeon weapons, the chance of a lower weapon level will be reduced.


    8. Class Change Coupons: Sales Moratorium/Price Change

    • The price of coupons for 1st and 2nd class changes along with Transcendences will be changed.

    12. Sales Moratorium: Magic Ice Dust and Ice Sculpture

    • The sales of Magic Ice Dust through alchemist NPCs will stop with the maintenance on 28/6.


    13. Story Mode: Difficulty Reduced

    • The difficulty level of Debrian Lab and Fight to Defend the Eldrit Tower in Story mode has been reduced.

    14. Camera Zoom Expanded

    • In villages the camera zoom has been extended from 3 to 4 levels.


    15. Class Change Quests Improved

    • The error where an NPC cleared Class Change/Transcendence Quests has been resolved.
    • The requirements for the Transcendence quests of all characters have been relaxed; the drop rate of quest items raised to 100%.
    • Upon completion of a class change, the items ‘Pet Pick Up Item Aura (time-limited)’ and ‘Quick Slot Expansion Coupon’ will also be handed out.
