improvements to heroic dungeons

  • maybe its just me but heroic dungeons always have been for me the more fun dungeons: fast, chaotic, useful drops (wedges and stones from the quests f.e.)


    but there a few major issues with the mode that disrupt the flow of the dungeons:

    - some mobs are enhanced (gate of darkness elixirs such as giant potion, volcanic bead spawn, ice shard etc.) the camera zooms to the enhanced mob during a stage transition (this is random) as if it is a mid/miniboss - this doesnt always happen to every enhanced mob

    - the debuff applied when you leave the dungeon (or get disconnected in the case of people who play on EU) is much longer (around 8~ minutes) than your usual leaverbuster, it also persists after clearing a heroic dungeon until the time runs out, this has been a thing since heroic were THE endgame gear which is not the case anymore since a long time (my theory is that its simply an oversight and was forgotten about), a such harsh punishment was (maybe) a lot more acceptable as it is nowadays

    - mobs such as the deep sea fish who hides beneath the ground and is untouchable (he surfaces when you are standing above him which isnt the case in heroic dungeon as it can take up to 10s for a single one to surface) and avalanche who hides every 7hp bars (this method could be cheesed when the dungeon was still available outside of heroic and guild expedition but in heroic dungeons a freezing orb only hitstunned him even after extensive attribute reduction from 12-7 accessory + NIs ifrit flame, 350 in total), methods to avoid that are not available to every class such as: single-hit oneshot and petrifying (needs testing)


    what do i propose? its simple we kill the problems

    but in all seriousness:

    - enhanced mobs shouldnt have their camera zoom anymore (or make it possible to move during those)

    - make the heroic leaverbuster the same as the normal one

    - be able to hit the deep sea fish faster (surfaces as soon as you are in range for his attack) and make avalanche more easily debuffable
