Forum display functions and Search
Forum display functions
The forum display settings can be selected in the menus above the discussion list of any forum section. You can open and close the menus at any time by clicking on the "Filter" and "Last Reply" icons.
The forum display settings look like this:
These options are able to group certain discussions with the chosen characteristics. You can perform a search based on one or more selected Labels (search for all the discussions that are characterized by the aforementioned Label), the Community of reference, the period of the discussions and their current status ("status" means if they are open, closed, read or unread). You can also sort the list of the discussions based on names, authors, creation dates, numbers of replies, likes received from the first post, views and last replies (the latter is the preset order).
Search function
The Search function is a function accessible through this link or simply through the box that appears by clicking on the magnifying glass icon on the top right of the forum pages.
The research can be done according to three criteria:
- based on certain words: all the contents containing the inserted keywords are searched;
- based on user: all the contents posted by the selected user are searched;
- based on period: all contents posted in the selected period of time are searched.
By placing the check in the box next to the word "Forum" the search will take place in all the sections of the forum accessible to you, unless you limit it by selecting one or more sections in particular. You can also search in your private messages by simply checking the box next to the word "Conversations". Finally, the search can be restricted to content including attachments and/or surveys by entering a check in the two boxes next to the words "Match only posts with attachments" and "Match only posts with polls".
The searched words will appear highlighted in the messages and discussions found. For example:
Guide shamelessly copied from the one in the old Italian board posted by [user = '64 '][/ user]; I did nothing but correct the correctable and update it for the new forum.
English isn't my native language, so feel free to suggest corrections if you see mistakes so that I'll ask to edit the post to a Mod.
