Sonico True, but "kill yourself" has also for a long time been a staple phrase among "completely sane" people, who just don't care about the person (or people) at the other end of the screen, and I don't think that "depression" would be the sole reason to write such words, especially when depressed people much more often think about killing themselves (or as it is in America starting a school/work place shooting). Even way before the drama, he seemed irrationally angry about things that appeared rather harmless otherwise, for instance when putting up a segment or whole video dedicated to the phrase "stop sending me emails".
Not wanting to blame him too much either, since fandoms are usually the place to find the worst in people expressed, but there definitely is criticism to be made.
